2020 Annual Summit

Effective Practices for Climate Change Communication and Education

Our 2020 Annual Summit, Effective Practices for Climate Change Communication and Education, was held on Saturday, February 8, from 8am to 12pm at Rhode Island College.

The morning event included a keynote address presented by Hannah Picard on “Why Hope Matters” as well as breakout sessions led by a variety of respected leaders, RIEEA’s annual business meeting, and a raffle to support our programs.

Keynote Speaker

Hannah Picard (she/her), Program Manager for the National Network of Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation

Hannah Pickard is Program Manager for the National Network of Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation (NNOCCI), and is responsible for network management and operations. This includes managing support for governance, communication, training, and evaluation. Hannah has led NNOCCI’s efforts on curriculum development, facilitator training, and alumni support since 2010. She has a background in education program development, implementation and evaluation for families, schools, and community groups. She holds a B.A. in studio art and Italian from Connecticut College and an Executive Certificate in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania. She also has training in evaluation from Lesley University and in conservation psychology from Antioch University.
