Earth Care Farm is tucked in the woods of Charlestown, RI, and boasts abundant fields, Black Angus cattle, award-winning garlic, and mountains of beautiful compost. In 1977, Michael Merner had an epiphany while standing in the home garden on his small farm that living soil is the foundation of our well being and began making compost soon after that realization. Forty years later, Mike and his wife still live and advise on the farm that their daughter, Jayne Merner Senecal, manages (with lots of help from the family and dedicated staff). The Farm sells bulk and bagged compost products, offers pick-your-own crops, hosts tours, field trips, and family events.
