The Guiding Education in Math and Science Network (GEMS-Net) is a research-practice partnership among the University of Rhode Island’s School of Education, scientists, and engineers, and schools and districts throughout the state. GEMS-Net supports STEM teaching and learning for pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. Schools receive ongoing curriculum-based professional learning for all teachers, curricula recommendations that align with the standards, and leadership development for teachers and principals. Additionally, the staff utilizes highly innovative strategies to prepare pre-service elementary and middle school teachers to be exemplary practitioners of STEM education.
